The day will consist of presentations, tours, lunch, and an opportunity to interact with medical students. Throughout the day, the program will enable students interested in medicine to speak with representatives from all of the Ohio medical schools. The program will give students the opportunity to learn more about the admissions process to medical school and student life while attending medical school.
The tours will familiarize students with the uniqueness of the hospital setting as well as provide them with a glimpse into their futures as medical students and physicians. The tours and demonstrations that will be given tentatively include: gross anatomy lab tour, labor and delivery, the operating room, the emergency room, clinical skills training center, and Med Flight. Other topics that will be covered at AOPMD include: the admissions and interview process, AMCAS, AACOMAS, the pre-medical and medical school curriculum, the MCAT, recommendations to medical school, special medical school programs, financing medical school, osteopathic medicine, and activities and organizations to join.
The projected list of medical schools that will be participating in this years event include: Case Western Reserve University, Medical University of Ohio, Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, The Ohio State University, Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of Cincinnati, and Wright State University.
The fee for the day is 25 dollars per person for pre-registration and 30 dollars per person for registration at the door. This fee includes breakfast and lunch for the day. The pre-registration deadline is 7PM, W
